It sounds like you found the culprit. Sorry you bought a new battery first but if it was the original, you were probably due for a new one.......

 

Final Update...Bought starter online for $68...insalled and now we are back in business...I barely need to turn the key and she starts right up. Thank you all for your help. Much appreciated.

 

It blows me away the cost of an after market starter compared to the Polaris retail price. They want $333.88 for that starter #4012032 which subs to 4010417. I am sure that aftermarket one is made in China, the OEM one is made in Japan from Mitsuba. I have had both apart and the Mitsuba starters are better quality but not that much? Thats quite a markup.

 

Dealer wanted $350 for OEM starter and +/- $150 for aftermarket...and thats just for the part, no labor. Putting it in was a joke...literally took my 10 minutes. I guess everyone needs to make money...
