Anyone in here that has done this mod to their XP(s) ? If so, would you like to share it with the rest of us

Thanks in advance.

I thought only some years of the Sportsman X2 had lights.

some do have work lights. I assume the OP is referring to making his brake lights come one when in reverse. I just hold my brake down a little. I have ben wanting to add rear work lights, but for the cost I am not sure it's worth it. My father-in-law has rear work lights on his Browning edition and there nice, but for me to add them to mine I would have to get new lights with the clear section plus all the wiring and switches.

Okay, maybe i didn't explain it good enough.
I have a VisionX Solo led light mounted on my atv, with a switch, relay etc.
Was trying to get it to come on in reverse by connecting the ground wire from the control power(?) on the relay to the grounded reverse wire on the gear selector switch, and it sort of worked, except that the speedo said that i was in reverse all the time xD (messed up the resistance system)

So i am wondering if anyone has figured out how to do this, doesn't matter if it is with the Pure Polaris rear lights or something else, it's the same concept right ?

Find and purchase a spring loaded toggle switch. Fabricate a mount for the switch in front of the shift lever on the tranny. Then connect the switch to the tranny lever with a lite spring and wire. When the shifter moves to the reverse detent it will pull the switch to the on position. If you go past the reverse position to the park detent the spring will just stretch and the light will stay on, no big deal, it would just act like a work light until the ignition gets turned off.
Supplies: Spring loaded toggle switch, bailing wire, small spring, piece of 1" metal flat stock for mount.

The trick to this is finding the right spring loaded toggle switch with a plastic lever, so you can drill a hole in the switch lever to attach a wire to it.

Sorry if this explanation sounds confusing, the set up is very simple.

your connecting to the purple wire correct? its not as easy as connecting just a relay to the purple wire. i sat an thought about it for over 2 weeks then trying to get it to work to come on when im in reverse. but i did get it to work on my 08 sp 500. im betting the xp and the standard sp are the same gear indacator wireing. iv also got mine so i can have them come on with the switch or auto on when in reverse. anyways. let me know i maybeable to help.

Quadevader.com makes a plug and play kit for your rear work light/reverse light
