Default 08 Sportsman X2 800 LE Damaged Fr CV joint :(

Hey everyone,
I've got a clean low mile 08 X2 800 LE. I managed to damage my left front outer CV joint to where the boot is ripped and the CV axle spins but the wheel does not. The bearing cage must be damaged.

I'm debating if I should buy a outer CV joint from the dealer ($165) of a full half shaft from ebay ($130).

Is it easier to replace the the full halfshaft or just the CV joint?

I would remove theold axle and see if you damaged the end of the axle shaft before I decided what to replace, The cv man is good to deal with if you need replacement parts,

I could'nt find any videos to help. Does the half shaft pop out of the diff or is there a clip that hols it in?

There's a circlip in a groove on the shaft that keeps it in the diff. Should be able to remove it with a few sharp tugs. If that doesn't work you can carefully pry from both sides between the cv and diff. They can be a pain to get out sometimes. Once you get it out and repair the axle coat the diff splines with neverseeze before popping the axle back in. That stuff works wonders!
