The LCD pod went out on my 600 yesterday when my son was plowing. i noticed today that the reverse override/4WD function is not working either - no speed limiter in reverse (which i'm ok with) but no 4wd in reverse either (big problem). 4wd in forward works great. LCD Pod is dark completely. I pulled the pod cover to look for shorts, warn wires, connections etc - and all seems good. Anyone aware of an inline fuse i should be looking for? or any other ideas? Got an appt for a dealer service dept to look at it next week - but it's tough to have your plow vehicle down for a week + in Wisconsin.

i'm figuring electrical, not mechanical - since FWD works great in forward. Hard to imagine the POD LCD can cause failure of the reverse override... i'm leaning toward fuse.. .just not finding where it could be located...

any ideas? all appreciated. Thanks

 

welcome to the forum. weird that they both went out the same time. did the battery go dead while plowing from the winch? the shifter when in reverse lights up the display for the "R" which tells you that your in reverse hence needing the override. there should be a transmision switch w/ wires on it and this tells the dispaly what gear your in which also has to do w/ the override. just a guess, but w/ the diplay out the bike doesn't know it's in reverse so the override doesnt work. i don't beleave there is any inline fuse for the dispaly. not sure why it went out unless there isnt any battery life.
