More problems with my 95 300 4x4
#1
I'm having some problems with my quad again. I'm hoping you guys can help me out. The machine is a 1995 Polaris 300 4x4. It is very difficult to start the Quad initially. The choke must be on for it to start. Once it is started and the choke is off, it idles rough and the throttle has to be feathered to get the rpm's up. Once it warms up it runs half decent, but no low rpm power. Then after about 5 minutes of riding it just boggs out once it drops down to idle. I replaced the spark plug and it had no affect. The plug was wet when I replaced it. There was fuel coming out of the carb into the air box, so I took the carb apart and cleaned it up. Still, no improvement. I am kind of a newbie to carbs, but I did a pretty thorough cleaning on it. In fear of a bad top end, I ran a compression test and got 120 psi. I'm stumped
. When I got the quad it would fire up first pull with out the choke on, now the choke has to be on to start it even if it's hot... Like I said, I am new to carbs, but I had all of the jets out and soaked in carb cleaner and it did nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction of what to look into next? Any tips would be appreciated.

Are these included in a typical rebuild kit?
I ran a very thin wire through all the little holes in the side, and sprayed them out. They appeared to be clean, but I'll give them a second effort when I put the new needle and seat in.
Thanks for your help guys. I've been wrenching on fuel injected cars and trucks my whole life. These carbs are a whole new world to me.
