I don`t think running it around the house and after warm up would have anything to do with the float. I`d start with the choke and see how that goes. Did you need to use the choke when you started it before the trip around the house? what I would do is take the choke plunger out of its seat measure the distance from the bottom of the plunger to the top of the threads on the adjuster, then measure the hole in the carb from the bottom to the top where the hex part of the adjuster would seat. then I`d adjust the plunger and adjuster so that the plunger is just slightly longer than the hole in the carb, install it all back into the carb and when you pull the choke lever you feel no resistance for the first tinny bit of movement. kinda like the free play you have in the throttle.

I sure hope so lol. I will get that choke figured out this weekend I promise! i had to go to out of town for business and with that insane storm it messed with the travel hardcore. Im not one of those "figured it out and never come back to the thread" types lol

Well the only thing I can think of now is the coil it self. try asking TLC on the board he seems to know what hes talking about maybe there is something i missed and he will think of it.

I can't remember what the values are for the coil(primary and secondary resistance) but check it before you start it and check it immediatly after it dies... seems like it's around 10 or 12,000 ohms from the hot wire to the coil to the end of the plug wire (PLEASE PLEASE don't quote me on the values, hopefully someone else will come in with the correct ones if I'm wrong) and if it's way off from before to after that's what I would look to replace. I've seen coils do that before when they have a crack somewhere on or in the coil and when it heats up the crack opens just enough to ground out and gets (usually) REALLY HOT.

Did you put in a bigger jet to compensate for the cold weather? I know the 2 strokes I've owned don't like cold weather unless it has bigger jet to get more fuel. The 2 strokes I've owned starts acting up around 30 degrees F with stock jets.

I never had any problems running in the cold with my old 250 trail boss 40main jet mine for some reason it liked all weather -20c to +30c no adjustments required the only thing I did have to do with mine was add a cooling fan because slow running on the trails in the hot days she started to ping a bit but with the fan she was good to go.
