Default X2 5 creeping

Here is the problem. The unit will creep at times and other times it will not. If it does start to creep you can grab the front brake and it will like release it and sits still but sometimes it will start to move again. There is no telling what it will do once stopped. sometimes will sit for 20 minutes and not move other times it will just start moving as soon as it is stopped. It is efi and idles around 1000. Ive read a few post on this but most seem to creep all the time.

Haven't really had an issue with mine. The only time it seems like there is a little creeping going on is during warm up on a really cold day. If I have it in low it feels like it might want to a bit. Never a problem for mine when warmed up. A friend has a 2002 Sportsman 500 that I brought up to the dealership to get clutch work done. He really beats the quad. It needed new pulleys and belt. A couple guys I've talked to suggested that the belt/pulleys get most worn if riding under 15mph for long periods of time without being in low gear.

Check your front motor mount, pry up under engine to make sure its not broke, if its ok , take belt cover off and inspect belt and clutches for wear, how many miles are on it?

agreed w/ kerbbirds and also it could be the ebs bushing in the primary going bad as well.

Default I'd say belt

My X2 would creep some too. I changed the belt and no more creep. I have 1121 miles on it.

i actually had my belt shrink on my 02' 500 and replaced it w/ a 700 belt which fixed my creeping at the time.

Thanks for the replies guys. The unit has almost 3000 miles on it so I am going to start with the belt and inspect everything when its apart. How does the EBS bearing check go?? If it spins one way Im good but if it spins both ways its bad? Thought thats what I read somewhere. Anybody have a preferance on belt to buy for it as far as manufacturer or different model belt??? Im not sure whats is stock here in town maybe check fleabay!!! Its is a 08 500 sportsman x2

polaris belts are best, the 800 belt is more $ but alot tougherand will work on your 500, the one way should only turn one way and there should be no side play in it if there is ebs washers are worn, also while you have cover off put machine in nuetral, start engine and rev it up enough to get clutches to spin , let it idle so clutches stop, look at where belt is riding in the primary clutch, if its inside or out side you need to either add or subtract a shim from behind the secondary, try to get it as centered as possible
