Default 1999 xplorer 400 milky white oil

I have a 1999 Xplorer 400 4x4 2 stroke. I just added oil for the counterbalancer. I now have milky white oil coming out of the tube that is connected to behind the cylinder. The oil is exiting just above the clutch cover. Did I add too much oil or do I have a cylinder head gasket problem? I have noticed lately that my radiator fluid has been low. The quad runs great however. Any Ideas. How big a job is the head gasket?

The white oil could be from water. Drain all the oil and leave your plug out overnight. Run some oil threw it the next day to completely flush out the engine of any extra garbage that might be in there. Put your plug in and fill it up with oil to manufacturers fill level.

Make sure you check what your oil looks like ,before and after you start it. Check again.

Ride for a few hours staying out of any water puddles etc and then check your oil again. If its changed consistency dramatically and looks like a soupy mix of anything but pure oil. Its most likely a HG

Thanks for the reply. It is a 2 stroke and there is no oil to drain except for the 2 stroke oil. I am leaning in the direction of a HG.

How tough is the water pump seal to replace? I might as well do the whole top end.

Thanks, I have one. I just ordered a gasket set for the top end. Sounds like it will be a lot of "fun".
