Brings a whole new meaning to yelling "Fore!" when you golf.

Just be sure you yell "Four!".

My buddy has the same four wheeler just a little newer. He's passed cars going 70 so it has to be at least 75

LOL

Get in a car and do 70mph and just imagine a ATV passing you. My friends 800 Outlander is lucky to hit 70 mph. And that thing is a 70hp twin cylinder, not a 32hp single.

I raced a 400 Xplorer (Same 378 Motor) and we both did not hit much over 55mph.

That's cookn along pretty good! Best I ever got on my sportsman was an indicated 60mph, downhill. Never had her reach over 55 on the flat, and again that's indicated, but she will cruise happily at 40 - 50 all day long. My Outty I got to indicated 118km/h on the same downhill stretch.

Running anything wide open isn't exactly recommended but everyone wants to know, "How fast will this thing go?" I've had my Grizzly up to 62 mph and that's pretty much top speed. I think I could have gotten it to go another 1 or 2 mph faster but didn't want to push the engine any more than that. Once you get past about 55 mph, it takes a little longer to get the last few mph. Low end power is its strong suit anyway, its got great acceleration from 0-40 mph and you can cruise it at 40-45 mph all day if you want.

Having about 1/4 less engine than your Griz I can't accelerate as quickly or go as fast but it's scary when it wanders a bit at high speed anyway. 40-45 is about half throttle on my 500 and I think you really could do that all day. You can cover a lot of ground and still get decent mileage. My Trailblazer 250 got bad mileage because I was always pushing it to get reasonable speed from it and I don't think the top speed was very high either.

2 strokes never had a good rep on gas mileage.Simple, light engines but a lot was wasted through the exhaust system as an oily mess. Bigger they were, the more they ate fuel, but they could fly. That's why the 2 stroke dirt bikes are still around, but 4 stroke technology has really closed that gap that at one time was large. There are lot of 4 strokes that scare me more than 2 strokes did. Namely the Ktm 450. I'm sure Honda,Kawasaki,Yamaha, etc are right up there also.Getting to be too close and scary between em.
