Thumbs down My XTR goes right down the drain

PISSED

Ran over a short pice of 1/2" copper pipe... Cut a hole in my tire and was stuck in it for a while... I hope a patch and tube will fix it rather than a $140 for a new tire

dubble plug it,..itll be fine,...if you really worryed bout it pull it off wheel an get a boot put in it,...last thing you wanta do is put a tube in it!! if it go flat on trail you patchin a tube an re-installin on the trail to get home!!

I've run as many as 3 plugs in a tire with a hole that size without any problems. Just put them in with a lot of glue. I put another 1000 miles on my original tires like that.

I saw bgirard420's tire on sunday- had 3 plugs going in and out his sidewall- got pinched on a sharp rock and took a nasty slice out of it, top & bottom- I've never seen a tripple plug going in one hole and exiting another on a sidewall - he says it leaks no air... so far

That sucks but easy fix, how the hell did you manage to run over a copper pipe? It wasn't laying along a trail was it?

Yeah the tube was about 4-6" long and was sticking right in the tire...it was half in my tire and half out! Worst part is, the tires have less than 200 miles on em

The best thing to use for an off road tire is a patch - plug combo. They have them in different sizes and it will be a permanent fix. The tire will have to come off the rim to put it on.

i have that happen to my xt'r but they were side wall cuts that i used reg plu style plugs and slim and worked preety good but ened up replacing the tire. those plugs you guys are refering too didn't work good on my stock ptx tire i had. had to put a tube in it to stop it leaking.
