04 predator not idling after rebuild. Running Rich?

Whats y'alls take on oil. The guy at the dealer said not to use auto oil, because the detergents would eat the clutches. He said it had to be motorcycle oil that will work with wet clutches. I dont mind using the PS-4 stuff, but I think that $10 a quart is a bit too expensive for my liking. Is there something else I can use?

NOT sure on the Predator, but I and my son have run Rotella 5w40 full synthetic in his SV1000 Suzuki and my old Nighthawk. $6.34 a quart PLUS no additives for clutch slip(API RATED only,NOT energy conserving). A lot about this oil is discussed on various forums. I really didn't notice any shifting difference between it and Mobil 4T for motorcycles or Honda line 10w-40 synthetic, plus didn't run hot. I'm back on Mobil 4t because I got a good deal on it,BUT wouldn't be worried to go back to Rotella. Made mainly for diesel use,but has found a following in the cycle community.Plus they did finally add on the bottles that it was JASO MA and MD rated, what most cycle makers require. Just ONE of many different oils to choose from and about the cheapest of all the synthetics! OPT
