My Honda would start right up but it took more than just turning the key but you couldn't just climb on and ride away.

Yes, EFI is great on cold days, and warm ones too!!

I'm guessing it fired up on the third power stroke.

This is one of the things I don't care for about this machine, the seat.

I find it surprisingly hard and why is it sloped towards the front of the machine and not flat so I can sit on it where I want to sit on it and not where Polaris thinks I should sit on it?

I wonder of the people who work for Polaris have ever riden any other brand of machine??

That's weird. My quad has a wide seat that is soft and fairly flat front to back. I understand the seat is narrower on the XPs but the slope is weird to me too.

That is just on the touring models. The regular XP's have a normal seat. I thought mine was kind of hard at first. Don't know if it also just needed breaking in or if I have just gotten used to it. Either way, I no longer think it is too hard.
PS I appologize for it being so shiny and clean. Took that picture right when I first got home with the new atv. Never been that clean since.

Looks like the Touring seat would keep you in the "center" so's you won't slide back into the passenger......and the 500 HO Touring still has the flat seat. I wonder if the XP Sportman seat would fit onto the XP Touring?
