can anyone help me with how I might be able to align the front tires on my 2011 sportsman 500? I noticed since I got it back from the shop its pulling to the left a little bit not bad just enough to have to constantly put a little pressure to the right. if riding slow one handed it can wear ya out pretty fast

Make sure all tires have equal pressure.(this can cause it to pull to one side also if rear tires are different pressure)Have someone hold bars straight, use a straight edge if you don't trust your eyes! Line up front tire with rear, then toe out the front tires 3/8" at the front edge. Try this and see if it helps. You may have to do this a couple times if still pulls sometimes to compensate for tie rod end wear, tire wear, etc. PS a lot of times you can notice one tire that may be causing the trouble and only have to adjust that one!. "out the front tires 3/8" at the front edge" just so I make sure I understand if sitting on it or looking down at the tires from above it would look something like this

that would be leading the toe out in front

or are you saying creating a gap in the front leading edge so the tires would be like this

jack both wheels up just nuff to spin freely,..take a flat head screw driver an get tire spinning pretty fast an use screw driver to "scrib" a line around center of tire tread,..pull jacks out,..now measure from line to line at 3 an 6 oclock positions,..want bout 3/8s more on front side!! this is how race teams do it....

So i struggled with this a couple weeks ago their seems to be some discrepancies from what I have found doing a search on the web. I also get two different measurement if I have machine lifted so tires just touch vrs on the ground with driver. My question is what is the proper way and what should the end result be with driver on machine.

should be on the ground at ride height with weight it will carry on it...
