Clogged

Maybe I missed something but what does it matter if snow gets to the radiator? When it's warm the snow will melt. Never had and can't ever picture having problems from snow in the rad. Mud I get, but snow???

Here in New England at least, ( but not always) in very deep snow the radiator WILL clog for long enough to melt and turn to ice in the radiator, then it takes a while to melt away. (as you sit there freezing your butt off) I was thinking of making a small plastic shield about 4-6 inches in front of the opening to block DIRECT snow packing in it. I guess it'll be a first concept. I'll keep you posted. BTW A friend of mine has a 500 sports man and it happens to him too. Motor shuts down because of temp protection.
