05 Magnum 330 rear pinion removal?
#2
Look at Cycle Parts Warehouse on the rear end breakdown and it will give you a little headway! You have to disassemble from the left side: wheel, hub, caliper, rotor, caliper mounting bracket and locking ring, then you can pull the axle tube, slide the axle out, then remove the rear housing bolts and pull it out. (The housing complete is around $650), the ring gear is $200, pinion is $116 plus around $16 for the seals. Ring and pinion must be replaced as a set even though one may appear to only have damage!! The main problem was the prop shaft stripping out because most people didn't see the grease zerk in the box frame or some didn't have one! If THIS is what you're talking about you still have to pull the rear housing to replace the stripped out shaft that slides over the housing pinion splines! I've done several of these! OPT
