Angry How to remove gas tank on 06 sportsman 800

Having trouble removing the gas tank from a 2006 sportsman 800. The front fender and tank fasteners have been remove but I can't pull tank out. It feels like it is caught on the front of the tank. What now????

Make sure you haven't forgotten the quick disconnect to the fuel pump along with the fuel level connector, then pick up the back of the tank and pivot out the front of the tank that fits under the front frame.Look at the tank tab first at the front and you will see how it is installed. Upon replacement the front pivots down first with the tank tab in place and the back of the tank then just sits down. Then hook up the fuel line and electrical connector. OPT

I can't move the tank back to disconnet the fuel line or the wire. It seems to be hung up on something.

Yes the front tank tab more than likely is holding it! It's the only spot on the tank that holds it! The back of the tank just sits down! Look under the tank at the way it is shaped also! It drops at the front and must be pivoted out. Look up your model under fuel tank and you will see http://parts.polarisind.com/Browse/Browse.asp OPT
