1995 Polaris 425 Magnum won't start
Alright, so I just bought a $300 magnum, won't run.
Cleaned the carb, checked the lobes for wear, the timing was off so we re-adjusted it back to specifications, good compression, good spark.
What it'll do and this is before and after we adjusted the timing: it'll crank and crank, and then every few minutes a pop or so, and sometimes a loud backfire through the carb.
The ETC is also messed up on the bike, and I've unplugged both red and white wires, but it still didn't change anything (is that the right way to disable ETC?), along with the black CDI wire.
She's really getting on my nerves, because she's in better condition than my other 425, other than not running
Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum! Try pulling the black limiter wire from the circuit board under the tank cover (on drivers side) and see if it cranks. One black wire comes from the limiter the other from the cdi ( engine kill wire) If doesn't help pulling the limiter wire, then pull the black cdi kill wire at the terminal board. If it cranks, then you could have a left control switch or harness problem or even the cdi kill circuit could be shorting out. OPT
