Default 2005 Sportsman 800 Rear Spring/Shock options

As the title states I have a 2005 Sportsman 800 and I'd like to beef up the rear end. With my big butt on there and some worn out springs it sags way too much!!

Looking around I've seen guys use the EPI, some use the Polaris Heavy-duty and I've seen others mention they use the Ranger Springs which are like 200#/250# springs!!! WOW!!!

However, I began to notice that all these guys were 2006 and up 800's. I'm wondering if the Ranger springs can be put on the 2005. And what other options may be out there as I'd like at least 150# springs. Will the X2 springs fit?

Thanks!!

SuperATV and Highlifter HD springs are really good also. If the Ranger springs work then they will fit all years on the 800 (or at least through 2010).

Well, that's the part I can't truly nail down. Seems a lot of the compatibility is from 2006+ so I was thinking there may be a design change since the 2005 was the first year for the 800 EFI.

Just trying to figure out if the 2005 has a bastard design or if other springs will fit... I would love to change the shocks, too, but can't afford that right now (I have four quads to maintain). I am not looking to lift the quad, just get the maximum height back on her! When I hope off and pull up on the rear end it sits really high!! Looking to get back to that!

Did you already turn the shock collar to the stiffest setting?

I bought the HD Polaris springs years ago and the last setting is way to stiff its like the pivot points on the IRS all were welded.

switzs is right that 05' to 10' should be the same.
