Default 01 sportsman axle removal

Is here a trick to getting the axle unhooked from the diff?Do they use snap rings to hold he axle together or do you have to disassemble the differential?

Snap ring on the drive shaft. If you can grab a hold of the outer shaft, short, quick jerks normally will pull em out.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Front drive shaft has a roll pin in the yoke that drives out, then you can slip the shaft off the diff splines.

Impact tool is the only way to go on roll pins. Hammers and punches are just busted hands looking for a place to happen! Glad you got if fixed.

You got that right. Anybody out there that doesn`t have a compressor and air hammer should start looking on Craig`s list and get them. Been soaking my driveshaft from engine to front diff with blaster and hope to be able to get it to slide off so I can change the u-joints.
