Default 2004 polaris 500 ATP

I am having trouble with my polaris ATP for quite some time now.. As soon as I start it starts rolling ahead.. It is so hard to shift and dies constantly.. I am wondering what would cause this.. Clutching problem

it's the ebs bushing or the fiber washers in the primary clutch that are bad. also could be the engine out of alignment but most likely the clutch issue. If you do a search on here you will find a lot of post that mention this issue and how to fix it. you need special tools to replace the parts once the clutch has been removed.

Like stendori mentioned the fiber and brass washers in the front clutch one way bearing can be worn along with a belt itself, plus a lot of accumulated belt dust that needs to be blown out in an open area. Plus almost all the machines that did this,I had to shim the rear clutch out to where the belt would ride dead center of the front clutch one way.If the clutches are off set from each other the belt will touch the inner front clutch sheath causing creeping in gear, hard to shift problems. Easy to tell, just pull the clutch cover and see if the belt is riding off center of the front clutch, any burnt/glazed spots on the belt ,along with excessive side to side play on the one way bearing if the washers are worn. You can get extra shims at any good hardware store to shim out the rear clutch. Item #1 is the shim you need to match up.
