Today I was riding to the gas station because I was running low and the scram started to die so I swiched it to res while still running but it was still boggy I rode for another 1/4 mile and then the scram died. When I got it home I was checking every thing and changed the plug and then I opened the air box and saw oil in the bottom I beleive this is from a over oiled uni air filter would this oil have worked its way into the carb and caused me problems? Does any one have any ideas for me if so please help.

If its a 500 you have? then the airbox will fill with oil if the thing is rolled. And as far as running out of gas. They are a b---h to get going again .So check that the pump isnt air locked it takes alot of cranking to get the fuel running again, its either that or you got debris from the tank in the carb.
Hope this helps

Most likely as EnglishMatt said, You probably have a blockage in your fuel line or in the carb, Check your float bowl and see if has any fuel, If not blow back through the fuel hose and drain your tank and clean it out. If there is gas in the carb your needle and seat is probably stuck due to some dirt in that case just remove the carb and give it a thourough cleaning so the gunk does'nt end-up in your cylinder. Dont worry it is a common problem with any machine which has had to scavenge the tank for fuel
