fan problem on 425 expedition

The fan is controlled by a thermostatic switch which screws into the back of the top of your radiator. Some of these switches do not turn on until the engine appears to be running rather warm. (been there, replaced mine.)
You might also trace down the wiring to the fan and make sure that you have a good connection at the electrical junction box. If the connection is good and the feed wire is not broken and there is no blown fuse, then the thermostat is defective. Good luck.
