The reason I left the hub and rotor on my Yamaha was because I could not budge the large hub nut and I had no impact wrench at the time.
The extra work of removing the not damaged outer CV boot to get the new inner boot on was a drag.

it was def easier taking the extra steps to take the hub off...got to look at the hillard too and its the alum not the plastic...yay...

The Hub system always had two metal roller cages rather the front Diff set up with a single plastic roller cage. Not only do you have two Hillarie's rather then one but both are stronger.
Polaris is known to change for the worst sometimes. Remember those ECMs? What a disaster.

Oh they learned after 5 years years on the ecms and went back to regulator/rectifiers,then they discontinued the 500 entirely,the best selling atv they ever had..

oh i see, i thought the stock cages were plastic, i must have been reading a newer model with the single hillard

i gave my local dealer, which is actually a nice size dealership, an ear full...they claim to have the most parts in stock around but they dont have a dang thing for the 500 engines, told them they are just losing business bot carrying common parts for the most popular engine..smh
