sportsman does not display Neutral - only occasional
#1
2009 sportsman 800...my newest issue is that I have code 25, and maybe once or twice while out riding the shifter does not display Neutral on the dash when i shift into it. i have only noticed the problem with neutral. I checked the gear circuit diagnostics and the voltage all looked ok. Neutral came up as 160, 158 is normal. But i was thinking maybe since its not a problem all the time i would have to keep checking it in there for awhile until it actually shows up.
I cleaned and applied dielectric grease to the switch rotary plug with no difference. Is it safe to say the switch rotary is bad? It seems like its ok to let it get a little more consistently worse before buying the new part. $90 for that little thing....nothing is cheap on these things, lol

60 bucks here. Item#25. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Does sound like the rotary switch and I've replaced a bunch of them over the years for this same thing. Double check everything, but sounds like you have for the most part.

You can get better help posting in the Honda section, but remove the connector and clean and see if that helps.Item#6 in the picture. Here's a free pdf manual that might come in use for this and other problems.http://www.mediafire.com/download/8y...ice+Manual.pdf
