Default 96 polaris 400 xpress 2 stroke

I have an issue with my idle I recently replaced my piston and gaskets and seals now I have a very high idle before I diagnosed the original problem being a broken piston I was adjusting the idle screw to try and fix the rough idle then I found out my piston was broke so I replaced that now I have a very high idle even when I turn my idle screw in all the way even in full choke I have tried a lot of the tips it has a muculli carb on it my air/fuel screw is at 1 1/2 turns out I need help

Guess you mean Mikuni carb.. Did you have the cylinder bored to the next over size piston and rings? Replace the crank seals? Made sure you flushed the crank case for any metal shavings? Have a little slack at the thumb lever,no more than 1/8" free play to rule out a tight throttle cable? Several questions, but any of these can cause problems as you don't give much info.

yes I did all that throttle is at 1/8 slack I think I might have turned up the idle and yes it is a mikuli carb I'm a little unsure as to which way to turn the idle screw clock wise or counter clock wise rather in or out

Turning the idle screw inward raises the slide which increases the rpm. Tuning it out lowers the slide, decreasing idle speed.
