Thank you. Might also throw in a new float arm while I have it torn apart again to rule that out as being the cause of the problem. Stupid thing is sucking up too much of my time lately, it may be worth the added cost of the float arm and pin to get everything internal to the carb in good shape.

If you can find the right parts I'd go for it. Being that old, the pin or whatever it pivots on and/or arm may be wearing out.

Finally found some to get back to this, looking at the cost of the carb rebuild plus a new float arm and pin it comes to almost $50 before shipping. At that point, I'm wondering if it would make more sense to just get a new card. Pretty sure this is the correct one and it's only $73 shipped:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mikuni-VM30-Roundslide-Carburetor-Spigot-VM30-83-30-mm-42-6005-13-5001-VM30-83/261430602743?epid=171102611&hash=item3cde7a6bf7:g: S4QAAOSwVHdap3Sr

The link is a little screwed up, search for Mikuni M30-83-30 on eBay and it should come up. My thinking is that will have all been parts that would be in the rebuild kit, as well as the float arm and pin etc.
