Default 99 scrambler 400 2stroke

Bit of a long one here i blew my dads quad up about 10 years ago. He sent the motor out to be rebored and new sleeve and piston. Got everything back put it all together got it running then parked it in a barn for id say about 5+ years i went to him and got him to sell me it cheap i hated seeing it sit there. I got it to start that day everything is full i shut it down somewhat quick cause i could tell it was running very lean more than likely need to tear carb apart and clean out but with everything apart i took off the oil pump line and made it turn over for a while to ensure oil is getting into it and it is giving me a little splurt of oil every like 5 seconds or so is this correct??? Also would it be a good idea since it sat so long to also add a weak oil mix to the first gas tank or so to help along side the oil pump to lube the engine back up since these bikes are dry aside from what you get from the oil pump? And what mix should i run in the tank?

it would not hurt to run premix at like 40 to 1 mix. you shouldn't even try to start it it its been sitting that long before a good carb cleaning and maybe even a small amount of 2 stroke oil down into the cyl. to help lube it where it's a new rebuild. just my .02
