TO BOSTY22 & CORNCOB

Colorado has fine riding especially the farther south and west you go - Silverton, Ouray, etc. I lived in Denver for 2 years (I now live in Minnesota) and believe it or not there are some nice trails along the I-70 corridor too - Georgetown and Empire each have nice trails. The view from atop Argentine Pass near Georgetown is awesome. Steer clear of I-70 though on Sunday afternoons. Traffic is UGLY! For an exhilarating ride check out Red Cone Pass off Hwy 285 south and west of Denver. Going down Red Cone is an experience you'll never forget. Don't dismiss the Bighorns in Wyoming though. My stepmother lives in Buffalo (my dad recently passed away). The Big Horns maybe a small range but offer truly spectacular scenery. Plus, Wyoming's attitude towards ATV's is much more open vs. Colorado where the number of tree huggin', granola eatin', Starbuck's drinkin'environmentalists continues to grow. If going to the Big Horns check out a trail west of Buffalo near Powder River Pass. The trail leads to East Tensleep Lake. Near Story, Wyoming (which is in between Buffalo and Sheridan) is a challenging trail with spectacular scenery. I don't remember the name of I but can find out. Truly awesome trail - only ATV's can navigate it. Rock climbing, mud, you name it - it has it. 4-wheel drive is not needed ( I went up on my '93 250 2X4) but sure does help. A friend of my dad's owns a hotel in Sheridan.

I think the topic is over about the Yamaha reliability, but while I can't verify everything mudmachine said, I can verify at least one engine failure. The Big Bear sure looked good sitting on his trailer the whole weekend though!

I must add though that I had a '87 Yamaha 350 Moto4 that was perfectly fine the few years I had it, and even though I was the 3rd owner, everything looked stock and like it hadn't been torn into. I did find out it didn't have an air filter though when I went to clean it. Hehehe.
