Clind,
I have a 99 Magnum 500 which has shaft drive.
What I mean by "snapping" the chain is that "jerk" you feel if you don't have all the slack out of a tow chain and you take off.. Kinda like popping a whip I guess.
What I did is used that sudden "jerk" to get the momentum started. Once you get it started, half the battle is won.
If you've ever seen one of those recovery straps that stretches for a moment, then snaps back to its original length so that a smaller vehicle can move a larger vehicle.. Thats kinda the same principle...
Oh, yeah.. toggling the throttle is kinda like momentarily punching it to about half throttle and quickly letting off.. That creates the "jerk" on the vehicle to be towed and just as you let off, the chain slightly falls slack .. thats when you roll on the throttle (go steadily from idle to half throttle or more and hold it there)
Thats how i've done it in my truck, on ATV's,Tractors.. To get people and equipment unstuck...
