i know the xplorer 400 will have better acceleration, but which is faster for top end speed, the xploer or a SP500 also does the SP500 have good "punch" (or a lot of power for recreational riding, such as spinning the tires, and ya know all that other stuuf we do

The Sportsman is pretty powerful, and will spin the tires and slide. It has pretty good "punch" to it. I have ridden a Sportsman right after a Honda 300, and you could feel the difference. However, compared to the Xplorer, it won't feel as powerful. The Xplorer also has a noticeable edge in top end.
