Belt?

on the Sp 500, what ive seen so far is that the belt in the PVT tranny is more like a fan belt in a car, wut im tryin to say is that the metal wheel what the belt rides on is not ribbed like the belt, this is what i have gathered so far from the pics on webpages and in the polaris catalouge. I might be explaining this unclearly but im basicly wondering if the metal sprocket-type wheel in the tranny is ribbed like a sproket would be but not quite teeth but ridges,

No, but the belt is gripped from side pressure in both the primary & secondary clutch. It's not like Harley drive belt.
One day I am going to video tape mine running with the clutch cover off and put it on the web, a video is worth 1000's of words in this case.

well i looked at the belts in our car a few days ago and they were too gripped by side pressure, thats wut i thught, y dont they rib them like a harley they would never slip, o weit is it because it woudl ot allow teh clutce to disengage?
