I am helping a neighbor remove a starter from a 300 4x4 and I cannot seem to get it out. I have the two bolts out by the flywheel and the two in the rear holding the starter to the rear bracket but it will not budge. I did my 1993 Trail Boss 250 2x4 a few months ago and it came out after removing thesebolts and after bending the bracket out of the way.

On the 4x4s is it harder to remove the starter?

Can you remove the starter without pulling the clutch?

I know someone did an Xplorer 400 the other day... how di you gert it out.

I do not think I can wedge it out by bending the holding bracket like I did my 250 because of the fram under the machine leaves no apparent place to drop the starter out????????
