Thanks to all who posted clues as to how I could fix the 4WD on my 99 SP 500. I narrowed it down to the speedometer. It had been cracked in the fall (off the mountain). I put a new one on and voila! True 4WD works great.

Now, my next question. My front suspension isn't leaking oil, nothing bent, but if I push down on the front bumper to compress the suspension, it goes down normal, but it is really slow coming back up. Anybody know what's wrong?
I'd sure appreciate any help I can get with this one also.

Is it cold where you are? Our Sportsman is like that in winter, but in summer the rebound is normal.

Usually it's pretty cold....0-10F but this year we have hovered around 40-50!
I know it's not the cold, The atv is in a heated garage, I have another identicle 99 SP
and it's suspension isn't slow coming up.
