Only way is that they weren't adjusted right the first time around or were adjusted on other than tdc.

Hey was wondering if it's safe to run my 425 Magnum without a thermostat until I get a new one. Taking it out stopped quad from overheating. Also , I just put a new Uni foam air filter on and it's bogging after about half throttle. Runs better with a cheap paper filter. Is this common?

Ok to run without one for a while until you get a new one. If the Uni is causing bogging,check that you have the correct main jet.You can drop the slide needle to see if it helps or consider dropping the main jet size.
