I have a 97 sp 500 and was wondering if you could convert its rear drive shafts to cv like on the newer ones??Mine have not gone bad yet but there is some play in the splines and the dealer wants 350$$ for each one for that much money I would change it over if I can.

I'm pretty sure you can. My buddy got his switched from the older ones to the newer ones. His was a early 98 Sportsman.

My 97 was ragged out pretty bad when I got it but it was priced right.to date I have had to replace all the brakes one strut housing the belt and today my water pump started leaking about 6 miles from the truck, most of the problems I have had were due to the original owners lack of care.
