Clutch Spring Help!!!
#1
I purchased a Stage 1 kit from Ritter Cycle. Everything is installed except for the clutch spring and the bike flys. I am kind of skeptical about messing in the clutch.Would like to hear from anyone who has done this and get some pointers. Also my hats of to Ritter Cycle. If you want Polaris Performance...Rick Ritter at Ritter Cycle is your man. J .Prentice

Changing your clutch spring is easy!
1. remove the side clutch cover
2. remove the drive belt by starting the belt over the edge of the BACK clutch pulley
3. once the belt is started over the edge of the pulley, turn the belt until it comes off of the rear pulley
4. remove the center bolt of the front pulley. It should be about 5" long
5. revove the outside bolts front the face of the front pulley. This should expose the spring in which you are changing
6. replace the spring with the new and then start the re-assembly
7. make sure that you do not tighten the outside bolts down too tight...they will break off!!
GOOD LUCK...when you have finished it once, it will be really simple the next time!!

If memory serves me Rick sends a plain spring with his packages. This will increase the engagement of the clutch slightly and rev the motor out as well to match the powerband of the new pipe.
The install should take less than 20 min. You can always put the OE back in.

I got the green spring with my kit.
You definitely want to put that spring in your clutch. It will match the powerband of the new pipe, and you will have even better performance then you think you have now. It is very easy to do, and does not reduce the ridability of the machine.
