I don't know if I will be much help, or if you already did this, but check to make sure none of the wires (one on each side leading down the strut to the hub) are cut open, frayed, or pulled out. If any are, then you just located the problem. Also, go to your nearest dealer and buy some hub fluid. Change the fluid and test it out. If no good, I'd change it again and check it out again before making any other major repairs.

SNOW!, anyway, try putting rubber tubing over the thing full of wires that runs to the hubs, or even better, wrap it TIGHT in duck tape, because it will probably make the proper connections, otherwise check it , and seal any frayed wires with electric tape, i had a similar problem, after going in reverse, with or without ovver ride, id go back in foward, then after a few seconds the reverse light came on and the ETC kicked in giving me no power, lol, so i had to shift back and forth, or hold ovverride, or turn it on and off 100 times, i just wrapped duct tape and black tape around some wires, never happened again

Dude

Check the hub oil, and replace it if it is a second hand bike. Also take the hub off and check the gap between the coil and the armature. Parts manual for the 200 model is on the link nbelow, but most things are the same.

I think he is refering to the armature plate. This engages the roll cage (roller thingy that binds to the inside of the hub) whenthe magnetic coil has voltage through it. It is a very simple system, but needs clean oil. The other tinkg to check is the springs that go around the rollers, to hold them on to the cage. If the spring has been taken off and played with (you just can't help yourself!) than it may be streached, and need replacing. If it is streached, then the rollers don't seat back properly when the coil looses it's power.

did you download the parts manual from the net? Do it as it has cut aways of all these things, and is very helpful.
