My Scrambler 400 started leaking coolant with only about 30 hours on it. With a flashlight I finally found that it was leaking out of the small hole in the bottom of the water pump (as suggested above). Since it was out of the 6 month warranty, the dealer charged me $158.00 to fix it (a new water pump).

Good luck,
Lorrin

well i just looked at it (i got home this morning) ive been giving alot of wrong information, probably making you guys a little weary of my intelligence. Anyway, There is something wet up where the carb feeds into the engine, it is very mild however. On the front right side of the engine, there is a frame mount that connects onto the engine (so it looks) and there is like a black plate on the engine. Well that is where it spews out. I ran up to the polaris dealership, and they told me that there is a "water pump gasket" that probably went bad so i guess i will check the out tonight. My friend who i do trust his opinions with engines said that there is no way a gasket is in there, that they should have just a threaded case and then a bolt that goes in there. This is getting a little confusing.

So either this is a very rare case, or i have just been giving a lot of bad info. Thanks
