When adjusting the throttle on my quad I was told to adjust the cable so there is about 1/8 inch play in the throttle. Is this 1/8" the play in the thumb throttle or 1/8" play in the contacts under the throttle cover.
My throttle seems to have a little play regardless of where the jamb nut is set.
I seem to make a bit of progress in my battle, than a few flicks of the throttle and the low rpms give me trouble where the machine wants to die out. I may have to look elsewhere for the trouble. It still idles ok, just when I give it a bit of gas it wants to die, but mid and high rpm's
seem fine.

 

IS this on a Trail Blazer? because if it is that is just the nature of the carb and how its set up. 1/8 of play in the thumb
