Scrambler Headlight question

Can I put a higher wattage bulb in my Scrambler 400 dual headlights, and not have to get a new or rewound stator? Is this possible? Just an Idea

i put two bulbs in 55watt low and 65 watt high i bought from a local auto store and it melted the lens

That's good to know, I was going to get some 100 watt ones.

Did you keep the lights on for a long period of time?

about 2hrs of night riding with the high beams on i'm still using them they still are brighter than stock (55 watt) the lens are melted and cloudy other than that they wok great
