I don't think mine has ever done that, that I am aware of at least.
Does it do it all the time, or only when the tank is full? I try to always leave about a half inch to the neck when filling, to give some room for the gas to slosh without having to go up the vent.

Hay man I have a 2002 freedom sieres 325 magnum 4x4 and I had that prob. so I contacted the dealer and they sayed that the fuel pump creates presher in the tank from the return line and that when the gas spashes on the over flow tube that the presher from the fuel pump pushes some gas into the line . And that it is normal . I did'nt no what to think about that so I tore it apart and sure enough bad design that is what was happening .

My buddies explorer was leaking gas from the overflow tube and it was just sitting in "MY" garage. He overfilled it. Next time you fill up, don't go all the way to the top
