truth of polaris
#2
Most of the time people bash on Polaris because they are different. Just like you add how ford and chevy owners bash each other.
From my personal experiences on a modded 2001 Trailblazer I can say polaris ATVs are durable, heavy, and require little maintenance. The only problems I have encountered were a broken a-arm bushing from hitting a fence post and a broken shifter lever from extremely cold weather. Through out the year the main like and dislike of the polaris is size and weight. The polaris ATVs are built very strong and big. This makes them more stable during riding but also kills acceleration and power on my little 250 2-stroke.

From my point of view I have owned several Honda's Yamaha's and one Kawasaki right now I have 2 Polaris 4 wheelers 2 Yamaha Wave Runners and 1 Yamaha YZ 250.
My 99 Polaris Sportsman has 3,100 Miles on it with no problems yet. My 99 Scrambler has close to double that since I ride it the most and I have had nothing wrong with it except for a starter. My Hondas on the other hand My CR 500 was always broken I rebuilt the engine 3 times and my Honda 350 4X4 one transmission I had to rebuild the engine once my Honda 110 three wheeler went through 2 transmission and my Honda trail 110 I had to rebuild the engine once and 3 transmissions. The YZ 250 has had one transmission so far. I have had the best luck with Polaris my father also has a Sportsman with 1500 miles and still no problems. All of my friends who also ride Polaris have had no problems other than Brakes and tie rods which are typical of Polaris. So my opinion of Polaris is really high from experience.
I think Polaris has become the brand to bash because the Sportsman has been the King of 4X4 for so long. It's like the Chicago Bull's when they were winning for so long people either really loved them or really hated them and unfortunately on this forum you have too many Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki riders that come to the Polaris forum to bash because they get off on it. If you want the truth about Polaris I would go check out other ATV forums of all the forums I read this one has the most bashers.

Polaris ATV's are different and if it wasn't for Polaris ATV's I probably would not have my automatic Grizzly 660. Polaris pushed the envelope and developed what ATVer's wanted. Easy to ride, fun, reliable, stable, 4x4, go anywhere machine. Take Polaris away from the manufactures and we would all be riding ATV's that top out at 30mph, and have 3 inches of suspension travel! As a Yamaha rider (my personal preference) I would like to thank the Polaris company for producing what people want.

Well, you see there's this guy named Muddy4life, Uhh, well, lets not get into that.
My opinion after owning more than half a dozen of them in the last 4 years (all 99 and newer)is that they are every bit as reliable as ANYTHING else on the market. Ride'em hard, ride'em easy but just do your pre-ride inspection and lube i.e. check chain adjustment, lube grease fittings, etc. Aside from that your normal periodic maintainence and your troubles (due to machine error) will be as infrequent as anyone else performing the same on any other brand!

So basiclly I hate Fords even though I had to trade my Tahoe in for a Silverado because the problems I had with my tahoe.
Sometimes you have 21 and sometimes you have 18 and the dealers 20, and that goes for ..vehicle.
It's just persomal preference.
So I just guess Polaris is the One!
Great!!!!
Now what 500 or 700
Thanks
