Oil pressure reads low but there is lots of oil.

I have version 1.8 on the diagnostic and may have made a mistake reading the info as it does show a box in the upper left of the screen with an arrow of sorts below it. this probably means oil pressure normal. only captain kirk can figure out the symbles they use for oil pressure on this ship. probably japanese for oil pressure!!. I don't know if there is a sender connected or not. I would not know where to look for it. The only sending unit i see is the engine temperature sender I think as it is on the left side just under the rad hose on the side of the cylinder.

The sender would be right above the dipstick mine has a litte allen plug there. the sender would be there if you have one. the box on mine is hight too but I found the sender wire and grounded it and it goes low or if not in the diagnostic mode the oil symbol goes on if grounded.

Hope that helps

shopman,
above my dip stick is a sender with a wire comming from it, but it is a sender for the engine temperature, so says the shop mechanic. I am going to remove the front body cover tomorrow and trace the wires back to locate weather there is one or not.
I'll let you know what I find.
