I need to replace a ripped CV Boot on a Sportsman. I have the suspension all undone but I can't remove the axle from the transmisson. Is there a trick to this? Also how do I replace the boot once the axle is removed? Any advice would be appreciated!

Does anybody have an old bearing race for the plunging bearing on the rear axle? Things break when you force them!

My shop manual states that you pry it out with a pry bar between the cup and trans. and beat it back in when your done. Yes I'm serious. And also, not trying to be cute here, if you don't know how to replace the boot you should probably take it to the dealer.
