all of us with an sp700 will know that when you corner (especially down hill turns) the front end wants to dive and roll over on the front tires. This makes the back end want to come up and that roll feeling comes on. Well I just fixed that on mine. Cost $00.00 I took a piece of 2" galvanized pipe (of course!! Im a plumber) cut it to 7/16ths inch with a cut off saw. Rasped the rough edges and put it under the front springs. This added preload to the springs and no more diving and twice the steering control. bump steer is reduced. It feels more like my scrambler 500. Hi speed cornering is much more stable also.

Polaris makes spring rubbers for that purpose also.

sportsman 43, in responce to your reply. I measured the sag when i got on the machine at 9/16" then decided to try and eliminate all but 1/8 " sag. That is how I ended up cutting a 7/16" piece. You can try any spacer width you like. Be carfull when you disconnect the top shock assembly. don't drop it to far down or the yoke will come out of the wheel housing and you will have to do a lot more disasembly to re connect it. unfortunatly polaris puts a snap ring on the end of the spindle that is totally usless and servs no purpose except it fustrate thoes of us that want to do some wrenching of our own. You will have to compress the spring before disconnecting it. the right tool will save you a lot of frustration. I did it with rachet tie downs.
I used a chop saw with a blade to cut the 2" galvanized pipe to exact length then filled the burrs off. placed it under the ring on the bottom of the spring and re-assembled. good luck.

I changed the floor boards because of the area I ride In. lots of bolders and tight trees. the plastic factory boards are well over 200 dollars (can) and break vary easily the same with the fender flairs so the went too. Note: everyone check the body screw on the left side between the fuel tank and the seat. the screw is too long and wearing a hole in the inlet snorkle to the air box. I seen this on all the sp700 in this area. I have to check out a problem with my clutch as I have no top end.
