I have heard it both ways. Leave it in neutral or put it in gear when transporting your Polaris? I thought that you put it in neutral so it won’t mess up the tranny and put the parking brake on. But the trusty manual says put it in neutral with the parking brake on.

Leave it in neutral. With or w/o the brake on...I don't use it, I just rely on some burly overkill straps. Use the rachet units, a buddy of mine lost his quad off the trailer with the slide/lock style. Luckily she landed on the wheels.

Agree! Throw those "motorcycle" straps away! If it don't rachet, it won't latch it. It won't hurt your tranny to leave it in gear. Jsut make sure you put straps on it anyway.

I've heard that leaving it in gear is hard on the tranny...

Shouldn't be on a Polaris since all it does is connect it to the secondary clutch.....which free-wheels when the engine isn't running.
