I have bought a sportsman 400 less than a month ago, has less than 120 miles on it and already have a problem with it. The transmission oil is leaking into the engine oil. Need opinions on what I should do. I doing know whether I should keep it or trade it off or how will I know that this problem will not happen again. Will I keep on having similiar problems like this. I know that it is still under warrenty. Your opinions would be appriciated.

I would take it back to the dealer and let them fix it. You might ask them to check it all over and make sure their is nothing else wrong. I bet they can fix it and since its under warranty you might as well keep it for now.

Well first off...If that was my quad, I would be VERY p*ssed. If it is still under warranty, then I would get it fixed promply. If you are happy with the quad so far, except for these problems you're having, then I would probly keep it. If not, I would probly go out and get a Foreman 450 S. Sure you are missing out on the soft ride and some nice features, but think of the reliability of the Honda. I'm sorry if I offended some people by saying the word "Honda" in the Polaris forum. I probly didn't help at all, but I just figured I'd try.

The engine and tranny are completely separate units and I see no way for the oil to mix. What leads you to believe this is happening?

Like Polarispower500 said, these are completely isolated areas. I don't even see how you could be getting tranny fluid in your engine. It sounds like you should definately take it to your dealer so they can figure out what is exactly going on here.

Only way this could happen is if the vent line from your tranny is going to your motor or carb.Like was said before they are seperate units.

What makes me think that the transmission fluid is going to the engine is that the transmission fluid is very low and the engine is full. The oil is not milky like water would be in it. No leaks were the transmission fluid could go and don't know how the engine oil go so full because I never add any oil. I spoke to the polaris dealer over the phone and he thought it might be a pump froze up and that is what caused it to dump oil to the engine. I guess I am going to bring it into the dealer tomorrow.
