Madison,
i'd tell your dealer where to stick that bill if they tried to charge me for a repair on a 30 hour ATV!
sounds to me like the bike wasn't set-up right in the first place.
in MA there is something called 'reasonability clause.'
if the part didn't perform properly for a 'reasonable' period of time, than the damn dealer has to fix it! are you w/i the 6 mo warranty? do you have low hours on the ATV?
YES and YES! therefore, JUST SAY NO! you're not paying! have your damn dealer get the damn Polaris rep on the phone and lay down the law!

I'm in Mississippi and I'm not familiar with that clause, however, I have already had my lawyer send a letter to the dealer. I intend to pursue this with the dealer and the warranty provider. I wonder how many others have had this happen. Do you know if Polaris has had a problem with this clutch system? I have heard numerous comments relative to problems with the clutches in the automatic transmissions.
Hope I don't have to live with this continually.
Thanks for your advice

Madison, Generally around here we put alot of miles on and it has been my experience that Polaris may have sold the most pvt's but they DO NOT have the most reliable or best pvt out of all the manufacturers. I have 6000 miles now on my 99 sp500 (600 alone in the last 10 days) and including the stock one I am already on my third set of clutches. I have been out alot with grizz 600's and kawa's and suz's and none of them go through as many belts or even the clutches as my polaris' have. I've even had to have my primary replaced on my '02 h.o. with only a couple hundred miles on it. My dealer did warranty it. The ONLY thing keeping me faithful to polaris is the ride and performance of the bike and my dealers' service. Nowaday's with some of the other manufacturers's starting to copy and play catch-up with the IRS, and having very reliable pvt's it is getting harder to stay faithful.
