Aaen carb problems
#1
Hi there my bro in law bought an Aaen carb for his SP 700 and were having trouble making the quad run rite. It missfires and if you floor it bogs down, cant adjust idle either, i turn the the screw and nothing happens. Also tried adjusting pilot jet and still sound like shes running rich. if the timmig is off wll that be the cause? Thanks please help

i don't have enough information to diagnosis your problem, but remember the carb basics.
1.) idle to off idle is the pilot circuit.
2.) off idle to 3/4 throttle is the needle.
3.) 3/4 to wide open is the main jet.
Did you guys replace the stock air filter? Open up the restricted air snorkle? Replace the pipe with an unrestricted model or modify the stock one? Are you sure the carb connections aren't sucking air? I have seen on one occasion to where conditions such as yours occured where the main jet used was way to large on a Honda. Example: 156 main initially vs 142 main. It would bog and kill the engine when cracking the throttle. I do think it idled correctly, but hey this was a couple of years ago. Let me know what fixes the problem.
