I do have a scar from a rather hard fall on a coffee table when I was very young, perhaps that is my problem...
I have an '85 Polaris that needs the motor rebuilt after an unsuccessful attempt at being a submarine.
I see on ebay a 2 cylinder 2 stroke 500 eninge (and some bigger ones...)
I got to thinking that I could probably fit one in there.
Is this absurd? Should my wife not allow me to look at Ebay any more?

I guess I could just rebuild the 250, but how fun is that?

Yeah, I'd say your crazy but that would be an awesome machine. I'm sure most of the people in here would think so too.

My '85 has Cable operated drums...

Anything's possible if you have the right tools and the right amount of time.

if you reinforce the frame a little, stronger motor mounts and tougher parts(not stock) i would for sure as hell buy a 500 2 cylinder 2-stroke engine, now that thing would be incredible, crack the throttle and prepare for some serious sliding or acceleration. i used to own a 1986 trailboss 250r/es, even with the 250 engine the thing flew, topped out at 86 - 88 km/h on a open field with a no wind.(using a GPS)and accelerated amazingly fast for such an old 250 2stroke.
